WWE is reportedly bringing WrestleMania back to Las Vegas, and it could be a regular occurrence in the future.
On Thursday, Wrestlenomics reported WWE WrestleMania 42 is no longer taking place in New Orleans. WWE later confirmed this was true, but did not announce a new location for WrestleMania 42. A separate update claims WWE plans to bring “The Show of Shows” back to Las Vegas in 2026. This is reportedly due to the success of WrestleMania 41.
Now, a subsequent update claims WWE might be looking at bringing WrestleMania to Las Vegas on a “regular basis.” According to F4WOnline.com’s Dave Meltzer (via the Wrestling Observer Newsletter), WWE is considering having Las Vegas host the event more frequently. Meltzer noted that it might not happen every year, but “frequently.”
Why does WWE want to go back to Las Vegas so soon?
Among the reasons cited, Meltzer said Las Vegas wants to have a major destination sports event each year. WrestleMania is one of those events. The others are the NFL’s Super Bowl, the NCAA Men’s Final Four and the NCAA College Football National Championship. The idea is Las Vegas would host WrestleMania any year the city does not host one of the other events.
Furthermore, sources claim that WWE was thrilled with how much money they made in Las Vegas this year, and know they wouldn’t bring in the same numbers in New Orleans. Additionally, key TKO executives live there and Nick Khan grew up there.
WWE has not confirmed any new plans for the 2026 Mania as of press time. Officials in New Orleans claim that in exchange for losing WrestleMania 42, the city will get two major WWE PLEs, including one in 2026. According to Meltzer, there are “two things” that need to be worked out with Las Vegas before a deal is announced. The current plan, despite not being officially announced, is to run WrestleMania 42 at Allegiant Stadium on April 18 and 19, 2026.
