James Ellsworth claims that he secured free front-row WWE tickets for life, thanks to the infamous Green Shirt Guy.
Green Shirt Guy, also known as “Superfan Smilez,” has built a reputation as a dedicated WWE superfan. Fans usually pinpoint him in the front row-wearing the well-known green shirt-at all sorts of WWE shows.
Superfan Smilez is often seen at shows sitting in great seats. Some fans think he works for WWE or knows people there. However, his social media handles show that he is just a passionate fan who regularly attends wrestling shows.
Recently, former WWE Superstar James Ellsworth playfully called out well-known superfan “Green Shirt Guy” in a humorous video shared on X, formerly Twitter. In the lighthearted clip, Ellsworth reminded fans that he was the one who helped him secure free front-row seats for life a decade ago. In return, Ellsworth joked that the fan had one job to find him a chin but still hadn’t delivered.

James Ellsworth credits WWE break to Arn Anderson
James Ellsworth began gaining attention in WWE in 2016 after making his debut in a quick loss to Braun Strowman. Despite the defeat, his now-famous line “any man with two hands has a fighting chance.” The line won over fans and helped him developed fan following. From 2016 to 2018, Ellsworth regularly appeared on WWE’s main roster.
In a 2020 interview with Chris Van Vliet, James Ellsworth revealed that Arn Anderson gave him his first opportunity because of how well he threw a punch. “I’m like, ‘Man, I hope I get the spot, this might be my only shot. So Arn Anderson comes up to us all. He’s like, ‘Hey, whoever throws the best punch gets the spot.’ He’s like, ‘I want to see you guys throw a punch.’ And he pointed to me first, he said, ‘Let me see you throw a punch.’ And I threw one on one of the other extras, and Arn Anderson just looked at me, and he goes, ‘Yeah, I don’t need to see anyone else of you guys.’ He’s like, ‘You got the spot.’”
“So we get in the ring, and he goes, ‘Alright, let me see you throw it on Braun [Strowman] here. I’d never met Braun, I’m looking at him like, ‘Hi.’ I throw a punch, boom. And Arn goes, ‘Good, you still threw the same punch.’ He’s like, ‘So that wasn’t a fluke back there.’”
