John Cena finally stops the charade.
At WWE Backlash, John Cena defeated Randy Orton following interference from R-Truth. Although Truth tried to help Cena, his actions accidentally cost Orton the match. During the post-Backlash press conference, Truth called Cena his childhood hero but also said some fans still think Cena can’t wrestle and “sucks.”
In response, Cena hit Truth with an Attitude Adjustment through a table. After that incident, WWE scheduled a non-title match between Cena and R-Truth for the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Over the years, Truth has become famous for his comedic antics, and he has repeatedly called John Cena his childhood hero. Preparing for their upcoming match, Cena appeared at the Philadelphia Fan Expo, where he addressed R-Truth’s claims.
Cena dismissed the idea, saying, “How in the space-time continuum can I be R-Truth’s childhood hero when he’s 150 years old? It doesn’t make any sense.”
While John Cena dismissed R-Truth’s claim of being his childhood hero, Truth stood by it during a WWE SmackDown interview with Wade Barrett. He maintained that Cena is still his hero but said he needs to “beat him back to his senses” because the current Cena isn’t the hero he remembers.
R-Truth said that no matter what happens at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, he will walk out with his head held high. He will live by three words: hustle, loyalty, and respect. That’s what matters to him.
