Sometimes, AJ Lee can forget how impactful her WWE run was to today’s generation of women’s wrestlers.
AJ Lee walked away from WWE in 2015 and hasn’t wrestled since. But that doesn’t mean her run with the company has been forgotten. Several women from both WWE and AEW have attempted to lure Lee out of retirement over the years, but so far no luck.
The former WWE Divas Champion took to social media to respond to a compilation video of interviews from several of today’s women’s wrestlers explaining the influence she had on their careers, tweeting out:
“Wow this is moving, I’m honored to be a teeny part of your journeys. I can be chronically offline and sometimes don’t realize the connections I’ve made. It’s so kind & generous to give someone their flowers while they’re still here. I’m proud of you all and I’m rooting for you,” AJ Lee said in a post.
While it’s unknown if Lee will ever make her return to the ring, it’s become abundantly clear that the wife of CM Punk could make her return to WWE anytime she pleases.
