AJ Styles has taken to social media to address his recent posts on X, revealing that his account was hacked.
In a video posted to Instagram, Styles said that he’s unable to get into his account, and saw the posts via his wife’s phone. He also mentioned that the SIM card for his phone was stolen as well. In the video, he also references the hacker potentially getting into his accounts by going through AT&T.
“My Twitter/X…has been hacked,” Styles said in the video. “If you didn’t know, it’s some crazy stuff. I was able to pull it up on my wife’s phone, because I’m unable to get into my Twitter account. They stole my SIM card, somebody allowed that at AT&T, but I got another guy working on it…some idiot, some moron, stole my phone and was able to hack Twitter.”
Users first noticed something was up after Styles’ X account began posting incredibly racist content. Shortly after the posts began happening, the hackers revealed themselves on the account. From the sounds of Styles’ video, it seems like he was the victim of a “sim swap,” a scam where hackers target things like two-factor authentication to steal identities.
Thankfully for Styles, the posts have since been taken down. It sounds like the WWE superstar is also in the process of getting his account back in order.
